A brand new style of harp is set to be launched at this year’s Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy which gets underway this weekend.
It will be on show at the 53rd edition of the summer school taking place in Miltown Malbay from July 5th to 13th and will see classes, lectures, workshops, recitals and céilis taking place across the week.

The hybrid harp blends the metal strings of the ancient Irish harp with the more familiar deisgn of the modern Irish ‘Celtic’ harp.
Creator, Úna Ní Fhlannagáin, says it’s a privilege to be at the forefront of a new chapter in the instrument’s long standing history in Irish tradition.
