Commuters in the east Clare area have been given a welcome boost with the announcment of funding to remove a number of turns on the R352 at Spanchill cross.
Funding of half a million euro was granted by the Dept of transport on Friday to Clare county council to continue work on the busy stretch of road which connect Ennis to east calre and also Portumna.

Work had been ongoing in the area to straighten the road and improve the surface but had stalled in recnt weeks due to a lack of funding.
