Cancer support services in the county have been given a boost with confirmation that the HSE is to support Slainte an Chlair.

The Kilnamona facility is run on a volunteer basis, but will now be assisted by the HSE’s National Advocacy Unit, meaning patients will be referred to it for supports and potentially opening the door for increased funding.
Gerry Quinn is with the HSE’s Clare Health Promotion Unit in Ennis.
She’s told Clare FM’s Morning Focus that health officials are impressed with the service at Slainte an Chlair, and are hoping that they can help this improve even further.
