The Manager of the Burren Life Project says the introduction of a locally-run, targetted agri-environment scheme is of huge benefit to local farmers.

A new scheme, announced by the Minister For Agriculture, which it's hoped will be up and running by 2016, will offer five year contracts to conservation-conscious farmers in the region.
It focuses on conserving the Burren's unique farming landscape while building on the success of similar schemes piloted under the Burren LIFE Project and the Burren Farming for Conservation Programme.
