A bookmaker has been given the green light for a development which will see it relocate within the Clare Road Mall.
The grant of planning permission will bring about the change of use of two units within the complex, with the bookmaker moving into one and the other being designated as a retail shop.
Hassett Leyden and Associates submitted a planning application to Clare County Council on November 11th last year on behalf of Boylesports for a development at the Clare Road Mall on the outskirts of Ennis.
The plans involve the change of use of Unit 4 which is currently the bookmaker’s premises to a retail shop.
Additionally, the application proposes to sub-divide part of Unit 5, which was formerly the restaurant Bistro 41, and change its use to a bookmakers.
Boylesports states its intention to relocate its premises within the mall and includes all internal alterations, new signage and associated works such as the installation of a satellite dish in the plans.
The local authority granted the planning permission on January 13th subject to four conditions including that “no change of use, amalgamation or subdivision of any unit” will take place in the interests of development control.
It’s also stipulated that the external finishes of the development must be in accordance with those indicated in the plans “to ensure a standard of materials and finishes appropriate to this area”.
