A book of condolence has been opened at Ennis Garda Station in memory of Detective Garda Colm Horkin, who died in the line of duty.
A state funeral was held in Charlestown, Co Mayo yesterday for the Garda who was shot dead, while on duty in Castlerea last week, with hundreds of Gardaí lining the streets of the town.

Here in Clare a minute’s silence was held at Ennis, Kilrush and Killaloe garda stations to express their deepest sympathy to his family.
