A road has been closed in Limerick to allow an army bomb disposal unit examine suspicious items, which Gardai believe may be linked to dissident republicans.

The Cork-based army Explosive Ordnance Disposal team received a request at 9am from Gardai in the Roxboro district of Limerick to examine the items.
Gardai have closed the Fedamore to Meanus road.
The operation is ongoing, according to security sources.
