Bomb Disposal Unit Called To Limerick City Bridge

The Army Bomb Disposal Unit has been deployed to Limerick City following the discovery of a suspicious device.

The device, which is reported to be a historical grenade, was discovered under the iconic Thomond Bridge close to St John’s Castle around 2 o’clock this afternoon.

Explosive Ordanance Disposal and Gardaí remain at the scene.
