A boil water notice for homes and businesses in parts of south-east Clare and Limerick has been lifted.
The notice, which came into effect on Thursday night, applied to areas including Westbury, Parteen, Larkins Cross, Ardnacrusha, Shannon Banks, Knocklisheen and Clonlara.
Uisce Éireann has now confirmed that following notification to the HSE, customers can now resume normal use of the public water supply.
The advisory was put in place due to possible inadequate disinfection at the water treatment plant and leaving the Newcastle reservoir.
Uisce Éireann’s Operations Manager, Eoin O’Connell, says the water utility regrets any inconvenice caused and appreciates “the community’s patience and support”.
