Blood Donors In Clare Urged To Donate In Run Up To Christmas

Blood Donors in Clare are being urged to attend a local clinic in the run up to Christmas.

It comes after the Irish Blood Transfusion Service had to import 390 units of blood from England during the week following shortages in the supply of O-, A- and B- red cells.

Upcoming clinics are scheduled to take place in Ennistymon on December 12th and 13th and in Ennis from the 27th to 29th.

 

Barry Doyle, Director of Processing and Hospital Services with the Irish Blood Transfusion Service, is advising potential donors to check their eligibility now.
