Bitter disappointment over stay on travel tax

 

Shannon representatives believe the Transport Minister’s decision not to remove the travel tax is a bitter blow to further boosting flight numbers at the Mid West Airport.

Yesterday Minister Leo Varadkar announced that the levy would remain in place for at least another four months as some airlines were unable to make a firm commitment on increased usage of Shannon Cork and Dublin airports – which was conditional on the tax being lifted.
