The Bishop of Killaloe has said he doesn’t think that throwing out recriminations in the wake of the Referendum result is helpful.
It follows comments by the Bishop of Elphin, who’s said that those who voted in favour of repealing the eigth should consider coming to confession.

In an interview yesterday, Bishop of Elphin Kevin Doran said those who voted to repeal the Eighth Amendment last Friday should consider coming to confession.
The comments sparked criticisms of him from some politicians who’d supported repealing the Eighth Amendment.
Today, Bishop of Killaloe Fintan Monahan was asked about those comments on Clare FM’s Morning Focus, and said he doesn’t think the tone of comments such as this are helpful.
Meanwhile, the focus on implementing new legislation in the aftermath of Friday’s ballot continues.
This morning, Health Minister Simon Harris has brought a timetable to his cabinet colleagues this morning which will see legislation for allowing abortion in Ireland published in 6 weeks.
A number of matters need ot be ironed out including the regulation of abortion pills and clinical guidelines for medical practitioners.
The Oireachtas Health Committee looks set to meet over the Dáil’s summer recess to discuss and progress the legislation.
It’s chair, Clare TD Dr. Michael Harty, says a number of issues need to be worked out.
