The Church Of Ireland Bishop of Limerick and Killaloe is reassuring that his retirement coinciding with that of the Bishop of Tuam, Killala and Achonry is the best course of action ahead of the planned amalgamation of the two dioceses.

The 67-year-old has served as Bishop of Limerick and Killaloe since his election in 2014, and will retire on October 31st.

In 2019, the proposed amalgamation of the Limerick and Killaloe diocese with the Tuam, Killala and Achonry diocese was approved to proceed upon the retirement of either Bishop.
