Residents in a North Clare village fear they will have to vacate their homes after being informed the thatched cotteges were put up for sale.
Issues surrounding fire safety at the cotteges at Abbey West in Bellharbour emerged last Christmas after receiver Ernst and Young informed residents of concerns over whether the thatch had been sprayed with fire poofing.

Residents says that despite the fact that no work being carried out to deal with the issue, they received a letter in the past number of weeks informing them that AIB, through EY, are selling the houses in a sealed bid process.
But resident Brian Flemming says one issue stands in the way of the sale.
