Beef price protests to get underway following breakdown of talks

Irish farmers will take to the gates of meat factories up and down the country tomorrow in protest against beef prices.

The IFA says it's members are being short changed in comparison to their UK counterparts.

The price paid for Irish beef is 350 euro per head less here, than in Britain.

A 48 hour demonstration will get underway from 3 o'clock tomorrow, after intensive negotiations between farmers and factories broke down late last night.

IFA President Eddie Downey says while the talks made some progress was on specification issues, price is still a sticking point
