Beef farmers are to hold a 24 hour protest outside meat factories next week.

The IFA says the factories here pay €350 per head of cattle less than the UK.
The association says dropping prices over the past 12 months have inflicted serious income damage on producers and Irish prices are now below the EU average.
Last month, farmers from across Clare held a demonstration outside Ennis as part of local efforts to highlight issues in the beef sector.
