Battle To Convince Europe Of ‘Frictionless Border’ Says Breen

Clare’s Junior Minister claims there’s a battle ahead in convincing Europe of the importance of a “frictionless border” in Ireland.

It’s after the European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker’s special adviser said a borderless Ireland would be “too complicated”.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney last week outlined his vision for a soft border if Britain goes ahead with leaving the Customs Union, as expected.
