Battery on MH370 black box had expired

It's emerged a battery wasn't replaced on missing flight MH 370 – which would have been used by one of its black boxes to send 'pings' underwater.

An interim report into the jet's disappearance 12 months ago today has found the battery expired more than a year before the plane vanished.
