Patrick Barry was found guilty of 59 offences at Ennis Circuit Court last year, after the court found he had molested the former pupils at his Moyasta National School from 1964 to 1985.

The 81 year old of Well Road, Kilkee was sentenced to 11 years in prison, with the final five suspended, and is currently due to be released in May 2019.

He lost an appeal against his conviction last month, but is now contesting the length of his sentence.

The case is listed before the Court of Appeal this morning.
