The film critic Barry Norman has died at the age of 83.
His daughters Samantha and Emma say their “remarkable” father passed away “peacefully in his sleep” last night.

He presented the BBC’s Film programme for 26 years and in 2001, was awarded a CBE for services to broadcasting.
