Instances of breaching barring orders and protection orders in Clare rose by almost a quarter in 2020.
The number of domestic disputes across the county also increased by 10 percent last year, with 425 incidents being identified by Gardai across Clare.

Domestic violence organisations locally have previously pointed to what they say is a significant increase in demand for its services in line with COVID-19 lockdowns.
Superintendent Brendan McDonagh of Ennis Garda Station says while the rise in domestic disturbances here is concerning, people being able to safely report crimes to the Gardai is a positive thing.
