Banner to host first ever Polish-Irish festival

The first ever national Polish-Irish festival, PolskaEire 2015, is coming to Clare.

The week-long festival kicks off today and runs for one week, with at least four separate events taking place across the county.

Local events lined up as part of the festival include a Polish-Irish dance workshop, an 'integration' family fun day, and a friendly soccer game between a Polish and an Irish side, all taking place in Ennis.

According to the latest Census figures, there are 2,658 Polish people living in Clare.
