The Residential Property Price Index is calculated on the basis of revenue returns, as opposed to asking prices.

Nationally, prices rose 7.1% last year but the growth in house prices in the MidWest far outstripped this, jumping by over 20%.

While still behind the height of the Celtic Tiger, the typical home in Clare cost 176,000 euro last year, up by 18,000 euro in twelve months.
