The head of the Oireachtas Finance Committee says the Banking Inquiry will be up-and-running before the end of the year.

Labour TD Ciarán Lynch is widely expected to head the investigation into the near-collapse of the banking system and the political response to it.
The inquiry had been on hold during the Anglo Trial – but yesterday’s convictions of former Finance Director Willie McAteer and head of lending in Ireland, Pat Whelan, means preparations are now expected to speed up after Easter.
