Bank of Ireland's Head of Irish Retail says he's disappointed to hear that ATM services in some of Clare's branches have failed to function during busy holiday periods.
Liam McLoughlin was responding to a question from Clare TD Michael McNamara at an Oireachtas Finance Committee meeting.
Clare TD Michael McNamara says his hometown of Scarriff as well as Miltown Malbay, Kilkee and Tulla, who rely solely on the services of Bank of Ireland, have encountered consistent issues with ATMs malfunctioning during holiday periods.
And with the Bank Holiday weekend fast approaching, he's asked for a guarantee that cash dispensing machines in those areas and across the county will be fully functional in the coming days.
Bank of Ireland CEO Richie Boucher took Deputy McNamara's concerns on board but has explained that sometimes unforseen issues can arise.
But the bank has stopped short of providing a guarantee for this weekend.
Head of Retail Liam McLoughlin says he's disappointed to hear of the ongoing issues in Clare and says Bank of Ireland remain committed to servicing those areas.
