Bank of Ireland has committed to continuing to provide an ATM service in Kilkee after its branch there closes.
The bank had previously said it planned to establish an alternative service in the West Clare seaside town, as there was no other ATM option away from its branch.
However, it’s now told the Oireachtas Finance Committee that it will continue to offer an ATM in Kilkee, though it will discontinue its service in Miltown Malbay as there is an ATM available in a local supermarket.
Responding to questioning from Clare Independent TD Michael McNamara, CEO of Retail with Bank of Ireland, Gavin Kelly, says there will still be a number of ways for customers in Miltown Malbay to alternatively access cash services.
