The mass exodus for the St Patrick’s Day Bank Holiday weekend gets underway later.

Gardaí say they’ll be out in force with checkpoints throughout the country – clamping down in particularly on dangerous driving, speeding and drink driving.
Last year six people died over the the Saint Patrick’s Weekend in Ireland – while so far this year in Clare’ two people have died on the county’s roads, while another was seriously injured.
New reduced drink driving limits were introduced last October, with a limit of 50 milligrams for drivers and 20 milligrams for learner drivers and professional drivers.
