Bathing areas at Mountshannon and Ballycuggeran have been declared safe to swim following an algal bloom scare in recent weeks.
Following consultation with the HSE and further investigations, Clare County Council has confirmed there’s no longer any evidence of an algal bloom at either location.

Permanent cautionary signage has been erected at both locations to ensure the public is informed in the case of an occurrence of algal bloom.
The presence of the algal bloom was first identified on September 25th.
