The Mayor of Clare claims the lack of visibility from overgrown hedgegrows poses a major threat to rural road safety.
It comes as Clare County Council’s is urging the public to apply for up to €15,000 in funding from the Community Hedge Cutting Grant Scheme.

Each application submitted prior to the deadline on September 29th will be assessed and a grant of €50 per km of hedgerow will be paid.
Bodyke Fine Gael Councillor, Joe Cooney says road accidents are inevitable if hedge grows are not kept to a proper standard.
