US Company Expands Into Ireland With Clare Company Shannon Precision Engineering

A major US company is expanding into Ireland, through a partnership with a Clare company, which will focus on the manufacture of products for the aerospace industry.

Hummingbird International will be formed as a partnership between Hummingbird Aero LLC, Shannon Precision Engineering, DPF Engineering of Carlow and Realtime Technologies in Dublin.

The process initiated as part of the Emerald Aero Group, which is managed by Clare based Consultant Theresa Mulvihill.

The company says its expansion into Ireland serves a number of strategic purposes and will enhance their ability to directly source products to global customers.

Managing Director of Shannon Precision Engineering, Dominic Murphy says they’re excited to contribute to a project that will provide a platform for Irish manufacturing to showcase expertise in safety critical Aerospace components.

The Farnborough signing initiates the official registry of the new entity, and was attended by Leo Varadkar, .Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment in the Republic of Ireland.

Hummingbird International will focus initially on the manufacture of electro-mechanical and electronic motion control products for the aerospace industry.

Hummingbird Aero, Shannon Precision Engineering, DPF Engineering and Realtime Technologies engaged the services of QCD Solutions, Business Consultancy Services (Derry, Northern Ireland), to project manage the collaboration.
