Possibility Of Flights Between Shannon And Saudi Arabia Mooted By Clare Government TD

A Clare Government TD is mooting the possibility of flights taking off between Shannon and Saudi Arabia after holding preliminary conversations with the country’s ambassador.

It comes as the airport continues to attempt to ‘intensify’ its recovery from the pandemic, with temporary Aer Lingus Heathrow routes operational, and United Airlines scheduled to resume transatlantic traffic in the Spring.

At present, Ireland’s only air connections with the Middle East are via Dublin.
