The new chairperson of Shannon Group is to appear before the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications today.
Pádraig Ó Céidigh, who was recently named as Chair for a three year term, is to outline his strategic vision for the Group to Committee members, which include Deputies Joe Carey and Cathal Crowe, as well as Senator Timmy Dooley.
It’s believed Mr Ó Céidigh will be asked to outline his plans regarding enhancing Shannon Airport’s Heathrow route and its transatlantic offerings as it continues to emerge from the pandemic.

The Group is set to formally ratify his appointment this morning, which will fill a 13 month vacancy following the end of Rose Hynes’ tenure as Chair last August.
