Clare’s Independent TD is calling on the Transport Minister to review the board of Shannon Group, to help reverse the trend of falling passenger numbers at the airport.
Dr Michael Harty says it’s vital that the range of aviation expertise on the board of the airport’s parent company is increased, to halt the decline.
While the other airports saw a welcome rise in passenger numbers in the first quarter of this year, Shannon’s numbers fell by 2.6%.

His call comes as Shannon Group has been criticised by the local authority for not having a council representative on its board.
