There are fresh calls in Clare for the Minister for Transport to accelerate a change in national aviation policy to give a competitive edge to Shannon Airport.

Members of the Oireachtas Transport Committee have visited Shannon, along with the Irish Aviation Authority’s headquarters in Ballycasey.

Committee member and Clarecastle-based Fine Gael Deputy Joe Carey says recommendations of the Aviation Taskforce need to be implemented as the industry emerges from the difficulties of the pandemic.
