Clare Govt TD Believes Shannon Aviation Bounce Back Will Be Far Quicker Than First Thought

A Clare Government TD says he believes the aviation sector will bounce back from the pandemic far quicker than previously envisaged.

It comes after Aer Lingus has announced it intends to resume its transatlantic and Heathrow routes from Shannon Airport on a permanent basis from next year.

The first flight from Shannon to Boston since the onset of COVID-19 will take place on March 10th, 2022 with flights to New York continuing operations seventeen days later.

United Airlines has also confirmed it will resume its service from Shannon to Newark in the Spring.

Clare Fianna Fail TD Cathal Crowe, who’s his party’s spokesperson on aviation, says he’s confident the demand for these services will be high.
