Calls For More Use Of Shannon Airport For Cargo Transport

Clare’s Fianna Fáil TD is pushing for Shannon Airport to be better utilised for the transport of cargo.

Deputy Cathal Crowe has again highlighted how some goods that are being brought out of the country on roads, could instead be brought by air.

With less than a month until the end of the Brexit transition period, there has been a strong focus on haulage and maintaining Ireland’s links with mainland Europe in particular.

And while the focus has mainly been on ferry connections, the Meelick Deputy feels there would be benefits from more supports being made available to air cargo too.
