Aer Lingus Will Not Review Shannon Cabin Crew Base Closure

Aer Lingus says it does not intend to review the closure of its cabin crew base at Shannon Airport.

The airline ended operations at the base last year, offering those impacted redeployment to either Dublin or Cork, or an agreed severance package.

There had been optimism expressed in both political and economic circles that the decision may be revisited once pandemic restrictions fully eased.

However, addressing Clare Fianna Fail TD Cathal Crowe at the Oireachtas Transport Committee, Aer Lingus Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Donal Moriarty says any review could put Shannon’s Transatlantic routes in jeopardy.
