Average Price Of A Home In Clare Over €250,000 For 12th Consecutive Month

April was the 12th month in a row when the average price a house was sold for in Clare was over €250,000.

House prices are continuing to rise in the county with the latest Central Statistics Office figures indicating a jump of almost 20% in the year to April.

The median price of a home in Clare in April was €280,500.

This is a whole 19% above the figure for the same month last year which was €235,500.

Prices are also climbing for new dwellings in the county, with the average price paid for a newly-built home in the month in question rising by nearly 4% to €337,634.

The Ennis area, where the average amount paid for a house in April was €290,221, continues to be the most expensive part of the county to buy property, followed by Shannon and Kilrush.

Of the houses sold in Clare in the month, 34 were in the Ennis eircode area while 15 were in Kilrush and its surrounds, with just five being in the vicinity of Shannon.

The data shows that the last time the median price of a home in this county fell under €250,000 was last April when €235,500 was the average price paid.
