The average price of a home in Clare hit an all-time high in April.
The Central Statistics Office has revealed the median price paid for a dwelling in the county rose above €350,000 for the first time in the month in question.
A total of 68 residential property transactions were completed in Clare in April of this year – down 16% on the previous month and 11% on the same month last year.
Sales in April came to a value of €24 million with the average price paid for a home being €352,500.
This was the highest average figure for Clare since records began – up 26% on the same period of 2025 and almost treble the number for the same month 10 years ago.
In Ennis, the median price paid for a home was €382,200, while it was €330,000 in Shannon and €250,000 in Kilrush.
53% of homes purchased here were by first-time buyer owner-occupiers, with 40% bought by former owner-occupiers and the remaining 7% acquired by non-occupiers.
