The cost of renting in Clare has increased by almost 9% in the last year.
The latest quarterly analysis from Daft.ie shows rents for new tenancies in this county continue to rise above the national average.
The mean monthly cost of renting a home in Clare rose to €1,447 between July and September, marking an increase of 8.9% over the past twelve months.
Families and larger households are once again bearing the brunt of rental increases in this county, with the average rent for a four-bed property rising 11.8% to €1,510.
One-bed apartments also saw a significant jump rising by 9% to €950, while two-bed and three-bed homes each rose by over 7% to command sums of €1,100 and €1,300 respectively.
The price gap between getting a mortgage and renting in Clare also continues to grow, as an individual or couple would pay just €442 monthly for a one-bed home via mortgage, which is 53% cheaper than the rental equivalent.
Supply remains a major concern in the region, with just 350 homes available to rent in Munster at the end of September, which is a drop of 13% in the last year.
On a national level, rents increased by an average of 7.2% in the last twelve months.
