The average price of a house in Clare has fallen by more than €15,000 from May to June this year.
Newly-published data reveals house prices were down in this county in June compared to the previous month but have risen since significantly last year.
The latest CSO figures show that between May and June the average price of a house in the Banner County fell by €15,500.
The average price here was €254,500 in June – down from €270,000 the previous month – which is a decrease of almost 6%.
The average house price has however risen in the 12 months to June of this year.
The CSO charts an increase of over 8% from June of 2023.
The average price of a home at that time was €235,000 – €19,500 cheaper than the same month this year.
Shannon has remained the area in the county where it is most expensive to purchase a house, with the average price paid in June being €307,000.
The price of a home in Ennis saw no drastic change with a house in the county town costing on average €2,000 more than May at €269,500.
Kilrush meanwhile saw a drastic drop from €256,000 to €175,000, a drop of over 30%.
