The average cost of renting a home in Clare is now over €700 per month.
New figures from the Residential Tenancies Board show that between July and September, standardised average rents here rose by €15 per month, or 2.2%, to €710.

Shannon is the most expensive area to rent here, with prices averaging €836, while they’re also above average in Ennis on €756.
Those renting around Killaloe can expect to pay around €746 a month, while West Clare has the cheapest rates with average monthly costs of €584.
Despite the rising rates here, Director of the RTB Rosalind Carroll says Clare isn’t experiencing an increase as bad as other areas:
