ASTI Raises Concerns Over New Junior Cert

The ASTI has warned that students won’t be properly prepared for the Leaving Cert as a result of changes to the Junior Cert cycle.

Syllabus changes – which will focus on project work and practical learning rather than a state exam – will be introduced from next September.

But the Association of Secondary Teachers in Ireland has raised concerns that under the new regime, the first formal state exam students will face will be the Leaving Cert.
