Artist Mick O’Dea To Lead Ennis St Patrick’s Day Parade

One of Ireland’s leading contemporary artists will serve as Grand Marshal for this year’s Ennis St Patrick’s Day parade.

Born in Ennis, award-winning painter and sculptor Mick O’Dea has exhibited in Ireland and abroad, with work shown at the National Gallery of Ireland, the Royal Hibernian Academy, Leinster House, Belfast City Hall and Latvia’s Cesis History and Art Museum.

Festivities on Tuesday, March 17th begin at 10.15am, with performances from Shannon Gospel Choir at Abbey Street Car Park and Comhaltas at Steele’s Terrace, while the St Patrick’s Day parade will get underway from Áras Contae an Chláir at 11am.

This year’s parade theme is ‘Ennis – Wicked for Good!’ and Mick says he’s honored to be involved in an event he’s fond memories of.
