The Army Bomb Squad was called in to Shannon Airport yesterday amid concerns over a suspect device in the luggage of a passenger.

A plane travelling from Kuwait to New York stopped at Shannon Airport and a mobile phone in the luggage of a passenger showed up as suspect during pre-clearance.

The phone was removed to a safe area and the Army EOD team was notified.
