A spate of burglaries in the East Clare and Ennis areas is being blamed on an organised criminal gang.

Clare Gardaí are investigating a series of burglaries at homes in the Tulla, Scarriff and Ennis areas and last night’s meeting of Clare’s Join Policing Committee was told that 95% of the incidents could be linked to serious armed criminals operating throughout a number of counties.
Chief Garda Superintendent John Kerin said gardaí in various areas are aware of the gang, but will require the assistance of the armed response unit to apprehend them, due to their organised nature.
