The Killaloe Electoral Area saw the highest rate of COVID cases recorded in the past two weeks, 49, bringing the 14-day incidence rate of the virus there to 243.7 per 100,000 population.

While the most number of cases were reported in the Ennis area, at 55, the rate of the virus there sits at 177.9, well below the national average of 245.6.

While all areas in Clare saw significant increases, the 14-day incidence rate still sits below the national average.

It is important to note, however, that the virus continues to grow, and figures from two weeks ago do not accurately reflect the current state of affairs.

Last night 51 new cases of the virus were confirmed in Clare with 40 confirmed the day before that, the highest daily increases since mid October.
