Aran air services to continue into 2016

Air services to the Aran Islands will continue to be run by Aer Arann until at least February 2016.

It's after the government awarded the contract for flights to a helicopter company, prompting complaints from residents that such a service wouldn't meet their needs.

Minister of State Joe McHugh met with residents this morning.

His department has now delayed the signing of any contracts until at least November 16th while they continue to negotiate with companies, residents and Galway Airport.
