Clare’s Fine Gael TD has welcomed the appointment of Shannon Group’ CEO to the government’s new Aviation Recovery Taskforce.
Minister for Transport Shane Ross has charged the taskforce with considering measures to assist the industry, including recommending new policies, with direct state support said to be a last resort.

The group, which includes Shannon group CEO Mary Considine, is expected to issue its first report by mid-July.
Deputy Joe Carey, who is heading up a cross-party group of MidWest TDs who are looking to support Shannon, says the appointment of Mary Considine is good for the region.
