The Environment Minister has announced the funds, as a report shows Ireland is getting cleaner, with the highest ever level of litter free areas recorded in 2012 as well as a general drop in the amount of litter.

900,000 euro, including Clare’s allocation of 24,000, is to be spent nationally on efforts to raise public awareness of the litter issue and promoting anti-litter and anti-graffiti activity.
